An 18-year-old longboarder died Sunday after he collided with a city Parks Department truck in Queens.
The collision happened just outside Forest Park in Woodhaven, less than a mile from the Forest Park Skate Park.
The teen was headed south on Forest Parkway — out of the park — at about 1:15 p.m. when he lost control of his longboard and hit the truck, which was headed west on Park Lane South, police said.
The 37-year-old truck driver remained at the scene, cops said.
Highway officers investigate the incident on Park Lane South at Forest Parkway next to Forest Park.
Rescuers rushed the unidentified teen to Jamaica Hospital, but he could not be saved.
Residents described the intersection — where traffic from the park curves downhill toward a traffic signal to meet Park Lane South — as treacherous.
“I saw blood all over the ground but no wrecked cars and it freaked me out because I’ve almost been hit at that intersection before,” said one teen, who declined to give his name.
The skate park inside Forest Park is open from dawn to dusk, and skateboarders and longboarders have to sign a waiver before they’re allowed to use the rails and ramp inside.
A few hours after the crash, two skateboarders zoomed down the hill, blasting through the red light at the intersection.
