Alec Baldwin and Kate McKinnon encouraged “Saturday Night Live” viewers to vote by dropping their Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton schtick ahead of Election Day.
Fed up with the “mean” election cycle, the duo broke character and hit up Times Square for a little fun following months of non-stop political parody targeting the White House candidates for a cacophony of scandals and debate blunders.
“I just feel gross all the time,” Baldwin said reflecting on his stint as the billionaire.
Baldwin dumped his Trump accent, loosened his long blue tie and escaped with McKinnon to the tourist hot-spot where they frolicked and gave out hugs.
“None of this will have mattered if you don’t vote,” Baldwin said after returning to the stage.
“We can’t tell you who to vote for, but on Tuesday we all get a chance to choose what kind of country we want to live in,” McKinnon added.
As their candidates, Baldwin and McKinnon made one final plea for support in a faux interview with CNN that failed to hold Trump accountable for colluding with the Ku Klux Klan, Russian President Vladimir Putin and the FBI.
“Is it me or does it seem like the FBI is trying to get Trump elected,” mused McKinnon as Clinton.
The dragging cold open took a bizarre turn when the billionaire locked lips with his “sweeties” — an FBI agent, Putin and a hooded Klansman.
Beck Bennett returned as the shirtless Russian leader in the cold open sketch exchanging a quick kiss with the Trump doppelganger, asking if he wanted anything from the store.
“Doesn’t seem like a story,” said Cecily Strong as CNN anchor Erin Burnett.
McKinnon’s Clinton bemoaned the exhausting election — recapping a laundry list of everything Trump has tainted.
“Donald Trump has singlehandedly ruined so much of what we as Americans hold dear: Kindness, decency, Tic-Tacs, Skittles, taco bowls,” she said. “Red hats, the word ‘great,’ the color orange and men.”
The sketch show returns on Monday with an election eve recap.
